2005

2005. Wow.

This year will be a busy year, I think. Baby #2 is due in late July. Colin and Tara are getting married in August. Work, work, work... not just with my extensive marketing communications workload at Fair Isaac, but also with improvements to the house (getting ready for baby #2 will involve moving the guestroom space to another part of the house), possible landscaping, and more. I'm really looking forward to all of the things that are in the works.

So, since it's the time of year when we all make resolutions (even considering that I don't like to make "Resolutions" each New Year), I've decided that in 2005, I will:

  • Take a vacation with my family and not bring along any work related materials or technology books.
  • I will exercise a little bit every day, even if it's only 15 minutes' worth.
  • I will curb my tendency to eat junkfood and work my way into eating healthier snacks and meals.
  • I will take the dog for a walk every day.
  • I will write more actual physical letters to friends and family.
  • I will take up a non-computer hobby such as woodworking.
  • I will try to get more sleep.
  • I will find more ways to show my wife and children how much I love and appreciate them.

Ok, so I have grown into a "list person" over the last few years. Somehow it's just satisfying to cross things off the list... especially when the list is huge and filled with things I need to do and things I want to do.

Happy 2005!
