Wow. It really has been a long time since I last posted a new entry. Time to get off the old duffer and say something!
We've decided to see if Caroline will sleep in a "big girl" bed, so we've moved one of the twin beds from the guestroom into her bedroom. So far, she's taken to it very well, and has not yet tried to get back in the crib.
When we were figuring out how to position the furniture in her room, we wanted to make sure she was near the door so she'd be able to get in and out of the bed easily as she's learning about her new place to sleep. Right now, she can walk into her room and climb right on the twin bed (there is a stool at the foot of the bed), where she likes to play with her dolls and flip through books.
Moving her to a "big girl" bed is just a test, but we are talking about having mroe kids, so it's really just the first step in the right direction. Perhaps we'll work on the pacifier disposal initiative in a few months.
In other home news tied to the the "big bed" project, we have to rethink how we have the gates situated in out house, so we can keep the mobile toddler from exploring the living room or kitchen in the middle of the night. We have the gates up to keep the Caroline and the dog from roaming the house at night... although if Caroline were to get out to the kitchen at 3:00 AM, she would likely find her dad out there, drinking Hi-C in the middle of the night!
