Motorcycle For Sale

I have finally decided to sell my 1996 Honda Shadow motorcycle. I've had a GREAT time with it over the last few years, and have lots of fun, scary, and interesting stories about this bike.

Interested in learning more? Perhaps you want a motorcycle for yourself? See my ad on CarSoup.com. Otherwise, keep reading.

Probably the most memorable experiences on the motorcycle are the scary ones, but all in all, when riding a motorcycle, the best thing to remember is to ride defensively. Confidence is very important, but riding a motorcycle exposes you to the crazy antics of drivers in all sorts of new and interesting ways. I've had people change lanes without noticing me right outside their window. I am certain that motorcycle horns are not loud enough to cut through the superb insulation and premium sound systems of todays cars.

As a motorcyclist, NOTHING irks me more than cocky riders, zipping in and out of traffic as if they are in a protective bubble. I watched one such rider eat a lot of pavement one morning during rush hour. I'm sure the motorcycle was totalled, and the rider was very lucky to be alive after he rear-ended a passenger car. It was a mess. An accident that was totally avoidable. I've seen kids on streetracing bikes pull wheelies and lose control. I've watched Harley riders brake so hard that the rear wheel came off the ground. I've seen more than my share of riders under bridges, waiting for severe weather to pass.

But as with anything, motorcycling is very enjoyable for people who enjoy the "open road." For me, there are very few things that I enjoy more than hopping on the bike and taking a 2 or 3 hour ride... with no particular destination in mind.

It's a feeling of unrestrained freedom. I know that I will own another motorcycle one day. I'm not sure when, but I know I will!
